Do you need some extra support with GCSE maths?
GCSE maths can be challenging and at times overwhelming, but with the right help and support you will be better equipped to tackle tricky maths concepts & excel in your exams. My name is Zara and I am an experienced maths tutor based near Exeter, Devon UK. I offer tailored one-to-one online maths lessons designed to give you the attention and guidance you need to succeed.
During my lessons I use an interactive online platform designed especially for maths teachers which makes mastering maths concepts not only easier but also fun. We will work through plenty of questions together and I will ask effective questions which will help me identify any misconceptions that you might have about a topic. This collaborative approach not only consolidates your understanding of maths but also paves the way to improved academic performance.
Together, we can boost your confidence and skills in maths - I look forward to hearing from you!

My teaching methods
Practicing challenging exam-style questions and improving your problem solving skills is important to succeed in GCSE maths. But maths concepts are built upon one another, so to understand more advanced topics you need a good, solid foundation. Identifying any gaps in your knowledge, filling them in and then tackling those challenging questions is key to your exam success. Here are a few short videos exploring my approach to teaching.

About

I'm currently a mature, enthusiastic, second year undergraduate student with the Open University, studying for a BSc (Hons) Mathematics degree. I've completed modules in pure & applied maths as well as statistics and I've been awarded a distinction in every completed module. I've also got A-levels in maths & Further maths. I am knowledgeable of the maths curriculum for the Foundation and Higher tier maths GCSE's from the main exam boards. Being good at maths is quite different from being good at teaching maths - they are two different skills set. Through experience I've developed my teaching skills & I'm always open to new ideas to make maths more accessible. My tutoring journey began as a volunteer GCSE maths tutor for disadvantaged students through Action Tutoring and since then I've not looked back. Inspired by my two young children I decided to change career and become a maths tutor because I truly believe everyone can be good at maths with a little bit of time, patience and practice.

I look forward to helping you on your maths journey.
